everyone is rushing to dump vectors into postgres as if btree indexes suddenly stopped existing. honestly, if your RAG pipeline requires a dedicated orm layer on top of a standard extension, you're just buying more maintenance debt. just write the sql.

hitting 500gb on a single pg instance and hitting lock contention on huge tables. debating if I should just use native partitioning or pull the trigger on citus. currently using asyncpg in python and the current migration overhead is killing me. has anyone seen real perf gains on…
